RPO Świętokrzyskie 2014–2020, Measure 8.2.2: Support for health prevention in the region
Project title:
Regional Health Program for the Prevention and Early Detection of Type 2 Diabetes

Dear residents of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship,
When it comes to diabetes incidence, we rank fourth in the country, and our average BMI is six points higher than the recommended limit.

Uzdrowisko Busko-Zdrój S.A. would like to inform you that it is implementing the Regional Health Program for the prevention and early detection of type 2 diabetes. Preventive activities are financed by the Regional Operational Programme of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship for 2014–2020.

In response to your needs, Uzdrowisko Busko-Zdrój S.A. will carry out preventive activities targeting residents of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship aged 45–64. This is the group most at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

  • More than 240,000 people will be covered by the prevention program. Health interviews will be conducted, and BMI will be measured to determine the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
  • 51,000 people identified as being at risk during the interview will receive individual education and blood glucose testing.
  • Over 24,000 people will have the opportunity to receive dietary consultations, which will include body mass and composition analysis using a special analyzer. As part of this preventive task, participants will also be able to have individual consultations with a physical activity specialist.
  • The program also includes dietary workshops and group physical activity sessions.
