Diabetes Prevention Program in the ZIT Region
RPO WŚ 2014-2020 Measure 8.2.3 – Support for health prevention in the region

Uzdrowisko Busko-Zdrój S.A. is implementing the project titled “Regional Health Program for the Prevention and Early Detection of Type 2 Diabetes – ZIT,” whose main objective is to protect health and improve awareness regarding the prevention of diabetes, overweight, and obesity among the residents of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. This will be achieved by conducting educational and health interventions until the end of 2021, targeting people aged 45–64 who have not undergone diabetes screening in the past three years.
The project covers residents of the following municipalities:
- Municipality of Kielce,
- Municipality of Chęciny,
- Municipality of Chmielnik,
- Municipality of Daleszyce,
- Municipality of Górno,
- Municipality of Masłów,
- Municipality of Miedziana Góra,
- Municipality of Morawica,
- Municipality of Piekoszów,
- Municipality of Sitkówka–Nowiny,
- Municipality of Strawczyn,
- Municipality of Zagnańsk.
As part of the Regional Health Program for the Prevention and Early Detection of Type 2 Diabetes – ZIT, a total of 54,429 people, including 27,596 women and 26,833 men, will receive support. All participants will undergo an interview and have their BMI calculated. Those identified with risk factors or a BMI over 30 will be invited to subsequent stages of the project, where they will have access to consultations with specialists in dietetics and physical activity, as well as body composition and mass analysis.
The project is co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship under the European Social Fund.
